The Trial of Saddam Hussein

After Saddam Hussein was caught, the historical photos were unbelivable. People of the world Iidentified with his with his uniform and hat or his mustache and cigare or his fierce brow and gaze.

On December 13 2004, When marine troops finally found Saddam in a hole in the ground 110 miles west of bahgdad, he looked like a scared old man.

In a concept where I chose to illustrate and art direct an article about this transformation, I tried to make it look like something you would see in the New Yorker. A more serious direction was chosenbut looking back, I could have done something more ironic, pointing out that after the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, our government invaded Iraq brought to Saddam to justice, instead of Osama Bin Laden or whoever was responsible for the terrorist attacks.
